The elderly woman, Caroline Mpai Mantje was reported missing by her daughter on 27 December 2022. The daughter went to visit her mother who resides at Phokeng, Thabong on 27 December 2022 at about 05:50. She found the shack locked from outside, she left and came back later and discover that her mother was still not at home.

The daughter asked the neighbour about her mother’s whereabouts and she related that they had a conversation the previous night at 21:00.

Police initiated the search to look for her without success.
