Lentegeur police confiscate a consignment of drugs during a crime blitz

WESTERN CAPE - The consistent focussed patrols in crime hotspots proved to be successful as Lentegeur police arrested a suspect in possession of a consignment of drugs.

On Saturday 20 August, members of the Lentegeur Crime Prevention unit were busy with focussed stop and search operations in Woodlands when they noticed an unknown man who appeared to be very nervous when he saw the patrol vehicle. They gave him no chance to flee, searched him and confiscated 400 mandrax tablets, four hundred and ninety straws of heroin and three hundred sachets containing methamphetamine. The 22-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of drugs.

Once charged the suspect is expected to make a court appearance in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate court on the mentioned charge.
