North West Provincial Government to host the Exco Planning Lekgotla

Mahikeng – North West Premier, Kaobitsa Bushy Maape will lead a two-day Provincial EXCO Planning Lekgotla to assess the performance of provincial government departments, State Owned Entities – SOE’s as well as municipalities towards the realization of the 2019-24 Medium Term Strategic Framework priorities. 

The EXCO Planning Lekgotla will undertake a robust analysis of government performance in the current financial year and identify challenges that must be resolved and prioritized through various intervention measures. 

Through the Accelerated Service Delivery Plan the provincial government prioritized job creation and service delivery to address challenges of socio-economic concern bedeviling communities across the province. Unemployment rate in the province is around 32,2 percent with some municipalities unable to meet their constitutional mandate. 

In addressing these challenges, the EXCO Planning Lekgotla will explore various strategies that could be used to mitigate the impact of the aforementioned in the province. The Lekgotla will be attended by MEC’s, Mayors and Chairpersons of Boards of SOE’s.
