Ndwedwe murderer arrested

DURBAN – On 16 November 2022, a multidisciplinary police team arrested a 43-year-old man for two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The arrest emanates from an incident which occurred in this morning at Ezindlovini in the Ndwedwe policing precinct. The suspect arrived at the home of a man who he suspected of dating his fiancée. The suspect kicked the door open before he shot and fatally wounded the 36-year-old man.

He thereafter proceeded to the homestead of his 34-year-old fiancée where he shot and fatally wounded her. He also shot and wounded his fiancée’s mother (58) and an eight-year-old child who were transported to hospital. The suspect fled the scene in his gateway vehicle. Police officers from the surrounding police stations and units were mobilised and gave chase.

The suspect was arrested at Ngcongangconga in Nsuze where he was also found in unlawful possession a firearm and ammunition. He will make his first appearance at the Nsuze Magistrate’s Court today 17 November 2022.
