Nakhon Sawan: Moo-F will participate in a showcase match in Nakhon Sawan as the Billiard Association prepares to launch the Thailand Snooker Championship. Nakhon Sawan is gearing up to host the Thai National Snooker Championship, which boasts a prize pool of 1.5 million baht. The Nakhon Sawan Provincial Sports Association, in collaboration with the Nakhon Sawan Municipality and the Billiard Sports Association of Thailand, will transform a 4,000-seat gymnasium into a venue for 32 of Thailand's top snooker players to compete for the title.
According to Thai News Agency, the event was announced by MP Sanya Nilsuphan and MP Chada Thaiseth. They have brought together renowned Thai snooker players including Noppon Saengkham, a recent China Open runner-up; Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, the World Open champion; Tong Sitthichoi; Panchaya Channoi, the women's world champion; and members of the Thai national snooker team. The competition is scheduled to take place from September 1st to 6th.
Ms. Chutiphon Sechang, Governor of Nakhon Sawan Province, presided over the press conference for the "I-EA-T Ranking Circuit 2026" Snooker Championship, marking it as the final event of the year 2026. Noteworthy attendees included Mr. Sanya Nilsuphan, MP for Nakhon Sawan, Mr. Chada Thaiseth, MP for Uthai Thani, Ms. Patravadi Niroj, MP for Constituency 1, Nakhon Sawan, Pol. Gen. Somsak Chanthaping, President of the Nakhon Sawan Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr. Chittakaseem Nirojthanarat, Mayor of Nakhon Sawan Municipality, and Mr. Sunthorn Charumong, President of the Billiard Sports Association of Thailand. The renowned snooker players participated in the event, which was well-attended by the local community.
Ms. Chutiphon stated that Nakhon Sawan Province received full cooperation from all sectors in organizing this competition. The Billiard Sports Association provided support, and the Nakhon Sawan Municipality offered the venue and personnel for the competition. The aim is to develop athletes to reach the forefront of Thai snooker and advance to the international level, while also promoting the sport.
Mr. Sanya, as president of the Nakhon Sawan Provincial Snooker Club, expressed gratitude to the Billiard Sports Association of Thailand for selecting Nakhon Sawan as the host of this major tournament. The objectives are to prepare athletes for international competitions, develop a competition management system to international standards, and enhance the abilities of snooker players. The tournament will feature 32 qualified players and offers prize money exceeding 1.5 million baht.
Mr. Chadak emphasized that the Professional Snooker Division 1 Thailand Championship is an important platform for Thai snooker. It provides opportunities for talented players across the country and focuses on raising the standards of snooker in Thailand. Following the press conference, a special 6-red snooker match was held between Mr. Chada and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, creating a lively atmosphere with sparring matches between attendees and national team members.
