Nan: The floods in Nan have subsided; efforts are underway to restore the city. Floodwaters in Nan city have receded in all areas. The municipality is accelerating city restoration, deploying water trucks to wash away mud and silt in low-lying communities along the Nan River. Meanwhile, residents have reopened their shops and set up stalls, creating a lively atmosphere. The mayor has flown in urgently to monitor the Nan River situation.
According to Thai News Agency, the water level in the Nan River has now dropped almost 4 meters below the banks. The flood situation in Nan Province has eased, and the recovery phase has begun in full swing after facing disaster in several areas. Although the floodwaters have receded, they have left mud and debris throughout Nan city. The municipality has mobilized water trucks and personnel to clean up and remove some of the flood debris. However, in low-lying communities along the Nan River where the water receded most slowly, mud and debris still remain on houses and streets, awaiting cleaning by the Nan City Municipality.
The atmosphere in Nan city is starting to liven up. Houses, shops, and stalls in the Sri Kham market and along Sumonthawarat Road have reopened for business. Nan residents are back out shopping as usual.
At Wat Phumin, an important ancient temple for the people of Nan, the mud and water stains have been completely washed away. The spiritual center of the people of Nan has been restored to its beautiful state once again. However, in Pua District, many communities still suffered extensive damage. The Friends Helping Friends Foundation of the Thai Red Cross Society is still working tirelessly to help the affected people rebuild their homes.
At approximately 10:00 AM this morning, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived in Nan province to assess the impact of the floods that devastated the area. He received reports on the damage caused by the floods, provided policy guidance, outlined solutions, and instructed all relevant agencies to provide full assistance to the people of Nan.
