Freetown: The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has officially launched the One Nation Reggae Festival Creative Clinic Report at its Freetown headquarters. The document stems from a Creative Clinic held on 27 November 2025, organized as a strategic forum for cultural custodians, creatives, policymakers, academics, youth leaders, and diaspora representatives to discuss strengthening Sierra Leone's cultural, creative, and tourism sectors. Betts Firm Consult facilitated the Clinic.
According to Sierra Leone News Agency, Event Chair and Communications Specialist Emmanuel Turay called the launch a major step forward for the nation's creative economy. Senior Permanent Secretary Judith C. Jones, in her welcome address, stressed the role of culture and creativity in tourism promotion, youth empowerment, and economic growth, noting the One Nation Reggae Festival as a growing internationally recognized cultural tourism platform.
Clinic Facilitator Binta Akibo-Betts commended the Ministry's partnership, emphasizing culture as an economic and development asset, not merely entertainment or heritage. Francis Momoh highlighted sector challenges and opportunities, stating that with proper investment, the creative industry can drive national development and youth empowerment.
Officially launching the report, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Nabeela Farida Tunis said the Ministry's youth focus is rooted in sustainability and nation-building. She pointed to initiatives like Tourism for All, the Year of Ecotourism, and the Year of Culture and Creativity as key to deepening national identity and advancing tourism ahead of next year's International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism.
The event included a tourism and culture quiz for pupils and concluded with cash prizes awarded to winners of the Troupe Beat Competition by Director of Culture Foday Jalloh, Director of Tourism Mohamed Jalloh, and Permanent Secretary Judith C. Jones.
