Dubai: Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Parks Tau is leveraging the AIM Congress to enhance South Africa's reputation as a destination for investment. The AIM Congress, the flagship investment platform of the AIM Global Foundation, takes place annually in the UAE and gathers top government officials, investors, and business leaders to tackle global economic challenges and explore investment opportunities. According to South African Government News Agency, Minister Tau is currently in Dubai for the Congress, which begins today and concludes on Wednesday. The Minister emphasized South Africa's strengths, highlighting its sophisticated financial and services sectors, robust industrial capabilities, extensive infrastructure, abundant natural resources, world-class institutions, and strategic location as a gateway to the African continent. Minister Tau remarked that investment is about more than capital flows, stating, "It is about building productive economies, creating decent and sustainable jobs, deve loping industrial capacity, transferring skills and technology, and expanding opportunities for our people." On Tuesday, Tau is set to speak at a high-level ministerial roundtable focusing on 'Investment 4.0: Shaping a Resilient and Intelligent Global Economy'.
