EASTERN CAPE - SAPS members' continued efforts during crime prevention operations yielded good successes in the Chris Hani District.

On 11 July 2022 Captain Mbono and his team of 16 members held operation "Sikhona"in the Tsomo area.

The members received positive information during stop and search activities at Tsomo CBD. The information was followed up and two suspects aged 27 and 36 were arrested at Mzomhle locality for dealing in drugs and dagga and for being in possession of suspected stolen goods.

During the same day in the Dalastile and Ngcobo area Captain Khanya and her team held "Operation Vuthu Hawe". The focus of the operation was on stop and searches, drug trafficking, closing of illegal shebeens and high visibility vehicle patrols in hot spots areas.

A 30-year-old suspect was arrested for selling liquor without a license and for dealing in counterfeit goods (Tobacco).

The District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph commended members for the successes.
