Copper cables recovered at a tuckshop in Rosedale

UPINGTON - The Upington Border Police members reacted on information received about dealing in stolen goods activities at a tuck shop in Rosedale on Wednesday, 11 January 2023.

Members visited the shop and upon further investigation, they came across 136kg copper cables and various copper taps, fittings and pipes to the estimated value of R 25 000.00 at the premises.

Different types of electrical tools which includes grinders, drills and extension cords to the estimated value of R20 000.00 were also found at the tuck shop. All exhibits were seized and booked in for safety at the police station.

The 52-year-old suspect who was identified as the owner of the tuck shop, was arrested for possession of suspected stolen goods and is expected to appear in court soon.
