Narathiwat: Arrest warrants have been issued for seven suspects involved in the Tak Bai police shooting case, where two police officers were killed in a shootout with police.
According to Thai News Agency, ISOC Region 4 has disclosed new developments in the Tak Bai shooting incident, which resulted in the deaths of two police officers. The incident, occurring on August 2, 2026, saw gunmen fatally shoot two officers from the Tak Bai Police Station's investigative unit during a drug raid in Ban Bueng Chalam, Phaiwan Subdistrict, Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province. Authorities have since identified 16 individuals involved, of whom 13 have been apprehended and are undergoing questioning. Two officers, Mr. Saman and Mr. Abdulmuklis, died during the confrontation with authorities, while one suspect, Mr. Ishe, remains at large.
Of those questioned, four individuals have been released and returned to their hometowns: Mr. Mahadi on August 2, 2026; Mr. Alif and Ms. Jariyah on August 4, 2026; and Mr. Haseng on August 7, 2026. Legal actions have been initiated against seven individuals, with arrest warrants issued under the Criminal Procedure Code for Mr. Muhammad Samza, Mr. Sobri, Mr. Abdul Hakim, Mr. Hakim, Mr. Sulaidi, Mr. Ishe, and Mr. Muhammad Burdin. Additionally, charges are being filed against Mr. Marosi and Ms. Sayani to request further arrest warrants.
In total, nine individuals are currently undergoing legal proceedings. Authorities continue to pursue those at large and are expanding their investigation to include potential accomplices. Evidence gathering remains a priority to ensure prosecution aligns with principles of accuracy, transparency, and fairness.
