Western Cape police changing the tide against criminals

Members of the Maitland Flying Squad arrested three males between the ages of 19 and 24 last night in Bonteheuwel for the possession of a prohibited firearm and drugs. The members received information about a suspicious vehicle with armed occupants. The vehicle was stopped and searched and a pistol and drugs were confiscated.

The suspects are due to make a court appearance in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates court on Tuesday 12 April 2022.

Meanwhile Vuthu Hawe operations by our detectives saw 420 wanted suspects land behind bars this week after they were arrested on charges ranging from murder, attempted murder, assault with intend to cause grievous bodily harm, robbery, burglary residential and business, sexual offences, domestic violence and the possession of drugs and firearms.

Western Cape police management lauded the dedication of the police members in making sure that perpetrators on the wrong side of the law get their day in court.
