On 25 September 2022 the police operationalised intelligence information about stolen trucks driving from Mpalanga to Johannesburg.
The information led the team comprising of Gauteng Highway Patrol, Flying Squad and Tracker SA to City Deep where stolen trucks loaded with chrome were recovered. Two suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.
On another separate incident, the police in Temba also operationalised intelligence information about suspects driving a hijacked vehicle and enroute to commit a robbery.
The identified vehicle was spotted and intercepted. Upon searching it, four suspects were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms and an undisclosed amount money.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had just committed a business robbery at a local store in Hammanskraal.
All suspects aged between 28 and 39 years were arrested and are expected to before court soon on charges of business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms. Police investigation continues.
