Six suspects aged between 15 and 25 were remanded in custody after appearing at the Bethal Magistrate’s Court yesterday, 05 May 2022, on charges of attempted murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

According to the information, a group of men stormed into a local tavern on Saturday, 30 April 2022 and allegedly robbed patrons of their belongings as well as stabbed them where one succumbed to his injuries and another, who is an accomplice sustained some injuries.

The matter was reported to the police, who upon arrival arrested the suspects and the medical personnel certified the victim dead at the scene.

The suspects were remanded in custody during their appearance and the matter was postponed to 12 May 2022, for Legal representation.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has condemned this attack and in the same breath applauds the police having arrested the suspects.
