Mueang District: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul made a significant visit to Sapphasitprasong Military Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani Province to meet with Sergeant Major Charnnarong Wongchana, a member of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit. The soldier sustained severe injuries, losing his right ankle after stepping on a PMN-2 anti-personnel landmine near Chong An Ma on August 17th.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister's visit was marked by a personal interaction with Sergeant Major Charnnarong and his family. Anutin Charnvirakul assured the family of the government's unwavering support during this challenging time. He engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Sergeant Major Charnnarong's son, asking about his future aspirations, to which the boy expressed his desire to become a doctor.

The Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to supporting the family and presented them with gifts as a gesture of encouragement. He also provided an update on Sergeant Major Charnnarong's medical condition, confirming that it is stable. Plans are underway to transfer him to Phramongkutklao Hospital in two weeks, where he will be fitted for a prosthetic leg. Although he still requires treatment for other injuries, such as scabs, doctors are optimistic about his recovery. The Prime Minister assured that Sergeant Major Charnnarong's physical condition does not pose any major concerns.
