According to Sierra Leone News Agency, the newly installed government-procured equipment allows local clinicians to identify complex illnesses with remarkable accuracy, reducing the need for foreign medical facilities. This development provides citizens with more affordable access to essential healthcare services.

In addition to the imaging upgrades, President Bio commissioned the country’s first National Burns and Reconstructive Center at Freetown’s Connaught Hospital. This specialized unit addresses burn injuries and reconstructive surgical needs, bridging a longstanding gap in service provision.
