Durban:The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) will provide extended train services this weekend for fans attending the MTN8 Final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
According to South African Government News Agency, the trains will operate on Saturday along the uMlazi, KwaMashu, Pinetown, Crossmoor, and South Coast corridors. This service aims to offer a convenient travel option for supporters, with a return ticket priced at R20.
Train services to Moses Mabhida Station will run on all five corridors until 530 pm, ahead of the 6 pm kick-off. Additionally, a dedicated shuttle will operate every 30 minutes from 1 pm to 6 pm between Durban Station and Moses Mabhida Station.
After the match, services on the five corridors will resume at 8 pm and continue until 10 pm. The shuttle from Moses Mabhida Station to Durban Station will operate from 10 pm to 1030 pm, facilitating connections with onward services.
PRASA has also announced limited park-and-ride facilities at Durban Station, uMlazi Station, and KwaMnyandu Mall for R50 per vehicle. Supporters are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use the train services to avoid traffic congestion and parking issues near the stadium.
