Pretoria:Kruger National Park: Police are investigating the seizure of approximately 40 kilograms of suspected cannabis, also known as dagga, which was found in a vehicle belonging to a park concessionaire at the Kruger National Park. According to South African Government News Agency, the dagga was discovered during routine security checks at Malelane Gate last Sunday. The ongoing access control measures are part of efforts to safeguard the park and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. The confiscated cannabis has been handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation. South African National Parks (SANParks) is fully cooperating with SAPS in their efforts to resolve the matter. SANParks emphasized its zero-tolerance policy toward unlawful activities within its parks and is committed to supporting law enforcement in combating criminal activity. As the investigation is ongoing, SANParks has stated that it will not provide further comments at this time.
