Intelligence driven operations lead to the arrest of two suspects for dealing in dagga and possession of unlicenced ammunition

VENTERSBURG – Members of Welkom POP Task Team received information from Crime Intelligence about dealing in dagga in Ventersburg. The information was operationalised and a house in Mmamahabane was approached and a request was made to search and the owner granted permission.

While members were busy searching the following were found 89 small zip lock of dagga. A 25-year-old man was arrested for dealing in dagga.

While members were on their way to the Police Station they made a turn to a house where dagga is sold at Phahameng Informal Settlement at Mmamahabane. A man was found and a request was made to search, 12 R5 rounds of ammunitions were found and could not produce the license to be in possession. A 28-year-old man was arrested for possession of unlicensed ammunitions.

The two suspects will appear in Ventersburg Magistrate Court on 17 June 2022.
