Girlfriend killer sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment

FREE STATE – The convicted 37-year-old African male who murdered his girlfriend in N-Section Botshabelo was sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment by the Bloemfontein High Court. On Wednesday 11 March 2020 the police at Boithuso Community Service Centre received a complaint of a murder scene in N-Section. The patrol vehicle was despatched to attend and on arrival the police were taken to the bedroom where the lifeless body of an African female was discovered. The victim was laying motionless in bed with a slit throat.

The deceased was first seen by his 15-year-old brother who brought her a cup of tea as he used to do every morning. The investigation started and the police were informed that the deceased was with her boyfriend when everyone went to sleep. The team traced the suspect to a farm between Botshabelo and Dewetsdorp where he was employed as a cattle herder. The 37-year-old suspect was arrested, investigation concluded and the trial started.

Tshiliso Moletsane was found guilty of brutally killing his 23 year old girlfriend on Monday 25 April 2022. He was sentenced to spend fifteen (15) years of his life in prison.
