Employment and Labour conduct blitz inspections in Mpumalanga, 21 Nov to 9 Dec

The Department of Employment and Labour, Mpumalanga Province through the Inspection and Enforcement Services will embark on a two week long (21 November to 09 December 2022) inspections targeting employers in the following sectors:

  • Agriculture
  • Manufacturing
  • Wholesale & Retail
  • Community
  • Forestry and
  • Hospitality
     

The Inspection and Enforcement directorate in the province is heeding a call by the Chief Director: Provincial Operations, Margaret Mazibuko to conduct a blitz inspection in Sabie, Belfast, Mbombela and Mkhondo areas. The aim of the inspections is to gauge the level of compliance with the National Minimun Wage Act (NMWA), Occupational Health Safety Act (OHSA), the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), the Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA) and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA)

The inspection project is planned to take place from the following dates respectively;

21 November – 09 December 2022 in Mbombela

21 November – 09 December 2022 in Sabie and Belfast

21 November – 09 December 2022 in Mkhondo
