29-year-old suspect arrested for possession of presumably stolen property

FREE STATE – On Friday 29 April 2022 members of Mangaung Metro Highway Patrol were on duty around 04:00 in the morning patrolling on N1 National Road North towards Johannesburg when they spotted a White Nissan NP300 LDV heavily loaded. The vehicle was from Raymond Mhlaba Road joining N1.

The police stopped and searched the vehicle driven by an African male. Upon thoroughly searching the vehicle the members found copper rods at the back of the vehicle. The value of the recovered copper is estimated at R128 000.00. The copper was then handed over to the lawful owner.

A case of possession of presumably stolen property and arrest of an illegal immigrant was opened at Navalsig police Station. The suspect will appear in Bloemfontein Magistrate Court on Tuesday 03 May 2022.
