HARRISMITH – On Tuesday, 22 June 2021, the of Welkom Public Order Police Reaction and Sasolburg Task Teams rolled up their sleeves on war against drugs and arrested two suspects in Harrismith.
The teams were busy with Crime Combating operations in Harrismith-Intabazwe when they stopped and searched a suspicious looking male person in the street and found him busy smoking drugs.
He was interrogated and he led members to certain house at Bafa-Zone Intabazwe. The team arrested second suspect and found him hiding drugs.
The following drugs were seized:
87 Nyaope sachets and cash amount of R332.00.
At the second house of 27-year-old suspect, police members seized five sachets containing CAT, 54 Crystal Meth sachets, 45 Nyaope sachets wrapped with transparent plastic and 45 dagga pokes found in his house.
The suspects 39 and 27 were arrested and are expected to appear before Harrismith Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 23 June 2021 facing charges of dealing with drugs.
