An intelligence driven operation was conducted on Friday, 20 August 202 at Klaarwater and surrounding areas.
Police were following up information about suspects who were in unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. The team proceeded to Umkhomazi Street in Klaarwater where three suspects aged between 26 and 51 were placed under arrest after they were found in illegal possession of firearms, Sassa cards and drugs.
Police seized two pistols with 66 rounds of ammunition, Sassa cards as well as capsules of heroin. All the three men appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on 20 August 2021. They were remanded in custody until 26 August 2021.
