A 39-year-old woman died on Wednesday at Shamahiho village in the Kavango East Region after she was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross the road.
The incident happened at around 19h00, the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Crime Investigation Coordinator in the region, Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu, told Nampa on Thursday.
It's alleged that the driver of a white pickup truck oyota was driving from East to West direction and bumped a pedestrian, who was crossing the road from North to South direction, causing her serious injuries and subsequently her death on the spot.
Her body was transported to the Rundu State Hospital mortuary.
Kanyetu said her identity has been withheld as her next of kin have not been informed yet.
He said no arrest has been made in connection with the incident.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
