NELSPRUIT – A 35-year-old woman from Mzinti near Komatipoort (in Nkomazi) is expected to appear before the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court in Tonga today for allegedly killing her ex-lover, on 02 October 2022.
It is alleged that Sipho Ngomane, also aged 35, visited his ex-girlfriend’s residential place in the early hours of Sunday (02 October 2022). Information at police disposal revealed that the man knocked at the door and after a while the woman came out. It is further said that there were exchange of words between the two. Reports also indicate that the man was somehow found later by the suspect laying in the street at around 07:00 am with a stab wound in the upper body (chest).
The probe by the police suggests that the woman allegedly stabbed him during their squabble and left him outside her house. Even though she later reportedly called for help, she was not let off the hook. The man was taken to Tonga hospital but he unfortunately succumbed to the injury hence the female suspect was arrested and charged with murder.
In a separated incident, an eight-year-old boy who was reported missing on Friday, 30 September 2022 at Elukwatini police station, was sadly found dead in Tjakstad on Sunday, 02 October 2022. His partly decomposed body was found in a street close to his house where the family together with the police have previously conducted a search with no success. Currently police rely on awaited post-mortem results to determine the cause of death meanwhile the investigation continues.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has emphasised to the public that police will dig deep in their investigation to ensure that justice is served without fear or favour.
