Omuthiya: The Namibian Police Force ( NamPol ) in the Oshikoto Region have arrested a 43 – year – old man for allegedly causing an accident that led to the death of a 41 – year – old woman . According to the regional crime investigations coordinator Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo on Saturday , the incident happened on Friday around 19h40 on the B1 road between Omuthiya and Ondangwa at Ondiika village . ‘ It is alleged that the driver of a Nissan double cab was traveling from Ondangwa direction toward Omuthiya , while the driver of a Toyota Corolla was traveling from Omuthiya heading to Ondangwa direction ,’ Ekandjo said . It is alleged that the rear tyre of the Nissan went off from the car flying and hitting the bonnet and windscreen of the Corolla driven by the now deceased woman . ‘ She pulled off to the edge of the road and was seriously injured on the head and was taken to the Omuthiya hospital but died upon arrival at the hospital ,’ Ekandjo said . s a teacher at Onashikuvu Combined School . A case of culpable homicide , failure to ascertain the extent of injuries sustained and carrying four containers of illegal fuel was opened against the suspect . The deceased body was transported to the Omuthiya police mortuary for an autopsy and the next of kin are informed while investigations continue . The driver of the Nissan fled the scene but was arrested when he reported himself to the police station on Saturday morning . The suspect is expected to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate ‘ s Court on Monday .
