Cape Town: Western Cape SAPS Provincial Corporate Communication and Liaison in partnership with Bellville SAPS, FCS and the Provincial Band embarked on a crime awareness drive at the Tygervalley Shopping Centre in Bellville today. The event which was hosted by the centre management saw police officials sharing safety tips with shoppers who at the same time enjoyed music rendered by the SAPS band.
Shoppers were sensitised to safety measures at home, in vehicles and when shopping. In recognition of the 16 Days of Activism of crimes against women and children, Captain Coetzee from the FCS Unit spoke to crimes afflicting women and children.
With the SAPS Safer Festive Season in full swing, similar drives are scheduled to take place in other areas too.
