Western Cape police arrest suspects for possession of unlicensed firearms and drugs

Continued efforts to rid the Western Cape of unlicensed firearms and ammunition yielded positive results when members of the Anti-Gang Unit arrested four suspects between the ages of 20 and 44 during crime prevention operations in the Mitchell’s Plain area for the possession of unlicensed firearms and attempted murder.

During these operations a shotgun, a .38 special revolver and a 9mm pistol were confiscated.

Once charged the suspects will appear in Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s court on Wednesday 10 November 2021.

In an unrelated matter Ocean View police arrested three suspects for the possession of unlicensed firearms and drugs in Arries Avenue Ocean View last night at about 22:30.

The members responded to a shooting incident and spotted the trio running from the scene.

The suspects aged 24 and 29 will appear in Simon’s Town Magistrate’s court once they have been charged.
