VENTERSBURG – Two suspects travelling from Gauteng Province to Western Cape were arrested for possession of drugs after their vehicle was stopped on the N1. Ten boxes of Khat with an estimated value of R200 000-00 were seized.
On 13 June 2022, members of Welkom K9 Unit received information about a delivery truck with drugs. The truck with two occupants, a 38-year-old suspect residing in Cape Town and a 60-year-old suspect residing in Elexandra Soweto, Gauteng Province was stopped near Ventersburg.
The suspects will appear in the Ventersburg Magistrate Court.
The District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Maj Gen Lerato Molale lauded members of K9 Unit for responding swiftly and ensuring that the suspects are arrested.
