The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) in the Western Cape invites members of the media to a media briefing on National Water Month Programme, scheduled for Wednesday 08 March 2023 at the DWS Bellville offices.

The purpose of the briefing is to table the Western Cape Water Month activity calendar and provide an update on the state of water in the province.

Furthermore, the media briefing will give highlights on key water projects that are being undertaken to increase water supply in the province, as well as enforcement initiatives by the department.

While there is a notable decline of the dam levels of the Western Cape Water Supply System at 56% as compared to 78,7% same time last year, there should be no need for panic as the system is closely and continuously monitored. all water users, in particular the high-end users are urged to drive down demand and use water sparingly.
