SNL legends Maya Rudolph and Dana Carvey roasted Vice President Harris and President Biden in a hilarious cold open for the show’s 50th season premiere.
The sketch began with Rudolph, who was playing Harris, giving a campaign speech in front of a Harris-Walz banner. She then thanked President Biden, played by Dana Carvey, while mocking the vice president’s bizarre speaking style in the process.
“Biden” then proceeded to shuffle his way to the podium, looking confused and staring around the room as he made his entrance. Carvey then proceeded to deliver a perfect impression of the president’s speaking style and mannerisms.

“Folks! That’s right. A lot of people forget I’m president, including me. But guess what? And by the way,” Carvey said before pausing.
Carvey, who portrayed a number of American presidents during his seven-year run as an SNL cast member, continued, “I think I did a pretty good job. I passed more bills than any president in history.
But folks, we still got work to do. No joke. I’m being serious right now. Come on. And guess what? And by the way, the fact of the matter is.”
He then leaned into the microphone and said “the rich don’t pay their fair share” in a hushed tone, something Biden has been known to do. “They gotta pay their fair share. We gotta build back better. The build back the better, the better the better, the better the better. Can’t believe it’s not butter!” Carvey continued with a stutter.
“Thank you, Joe Biden. Thank you for putting country first and for handing over the reins,” Rudolph then jumped in.
“I didn’t want to! They made me,” Carvey shot back. “And by the way, the fact of the matter is, no joke, this is serious right now. I mean, it’s serious. Anyway, in conclusion, me and Vice President Harris are the same!”
Rudolph then rushed Carvey off the stage while mocking Harris’ signature nervous laugh.
