Vigilant policing nets four drug dealers in Nababeep

On 29 June 2021 at about 09:00 a vigilant off-duty police official noticed a suspicious gathering of men in a Nababeep residential area.

The swift and speedy response from the Nababeep Visible Policing unit resulted in the apprehension of the four male suspects who were caught in the act of an alleged drug transaction.

Police pounced on the unsuspecting men and confiscated 900 mandrax tablets, 150 grams Tik and 8.3 grams of high grade dagga with an estimated street value of               R84 000-00.

Police also confiscated cash and a white VW Polo as it was allegedly utilized in the commission of crime.

The men are aged between 25 and 45 years old and will soon appear in the Springbok Magistrates’ Court on a charge of dealing in drugs.

The Acting Namakwa District Commander, Col Schalk Andrews commended the off-duty police officer who went the extra mile and the Nababeep SAPS for their relentless efforts and commitment in serving the community.
