CAPE TOWN – Efforts to rid our communities of the illegal possession of firearms led to the arrest of two suspects aged 30 and 34 last night in Kiewiet Road Parkwood. The vigilant members of Grassy Park police were busy attending to complaints when they noticed a motorcycle with two occupants on it. When they saw the police approaching them, they sped off and skipped two red traffic lights. The motorcycle was stopped and the suspects jumped off the bike and ran and pointed the police officers with a firearm however, they were swiftly apprehended and found in possession of a firearm without a serial number and ammunition.
The suspects will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 09 March 2022 on charges of possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition, pointing of a firearm and reckless and negligent driving.
