Western Cape’s Vasco Da Gama beat Eastern Cape side City Lads Ladies 4-3 in a scintillating final of the 2021 Sasol League National Championships played at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday afternoon in sweltering conditions in Umlazi.
Goals by Miche Minnies, Chantay Norris and Roxanne Barker gave Vasco the deserved title.
And for their efforts, Vasco Da Gama walked away with R200 000 prize money, while runners up City Lads Ladies received R100 000.
Both teams signed out of the Sasol League with class as they will now play in the women’s premier league, the Hollywoodbets Super League.
Lindelani Ladies from KwaZulu Natal will receive R60 000 for finishing third in the Championships, while Croesus Ladies who finished fourth will receive R40 000.
Ixias FC walked away with R30 000, TS Galaxy R25 000.
7th placed Tswelelang De’Scorpion will receive R20 000. Limpopo’s Copperbelt Ladies will get R15 000, while bottom placed Royal Wizards will walk away with R10 000.
Vasco’s Miche Minnies also walked away with the top goalscorer’s award after scoring 6 matches in the tournament.
