POLOKWANE – Two male suspects, aged 32 and 34, are expected to appear before Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 August 2024, on a charge of stock theft.
The suspects were arrested on Thursday night, 15 August, at Maupye Village under the Matlala policing area after stealing goats belonging to communities from Dilaeneng village in the Senwabarwana policing area. About 150 goats were at the grazing land when the suspects drove them to a secluded area.
Acting on a tip-off, Senwabarwana police conducted a tactical operation and found the suspects with 33 of the goats tied up and ready for transportation. The goats were returned to their lawful owner.
Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the swift response, saying: “We are committed to fighting the scourge of stock theft across the province,
and this arrest is a testament to our efforts.” added Lieutenant General Hadebe.
