DURBAN – A joint operation was held in the early hours of this morning at Ezakheni. The team was searching for suspects involved in a robbery and in unlawful possession of a firearm.
The team proceeded to C Section in Ezakheni where the suspect managed to evade arrest when the team approached his homestead. Police found 36 mandrax tablets and 43 heroin capsules. The recovered drugs are valued at R8000-00. The team proceeded to Ezwelisha where a 24-year-old man was found in possession of 13 rounds of ammunition and two magazines.
Another 23-year-old suspect was also arrested after he was found in unlawful possession of a revolver with two rounds of ammunition. The recovered firearm will be subjected to ballistic testing. Both suspects are appearing before the Ezakheni Magistrates Court today.
