WESSELSBRON - A robbery was committed at Wesselsbron Post Office at gunpoint by suspects who posed as police officers. A look-out was given for the vehicle used by the suspects and within a period of 72 hours of the activation plan, two suspects were traced and arrested.
The team worked around the clock and the vehicle that matched the description was spotted in Welkom CBD and stopped by members of Welkom Flying Squad.
A 32-year-old white male who was driving the vehicle and a 37-year-old suspect were arrested for Business Robbery. The white Toyota Camry and one Galaxy tablet were seized.
Investigation continues and the suspects will appear soon in the Wesselsbron Magistrate Court.
The Provincial Commissioner of Free State, Lt Gen Baile Motswenyane applauded the joint effort of all teams involved who ensured that two suspects were arrested and a vehicle used in the alleged commission of a business robbery was traced.
