BETHLEHEM – The Bethlehem Public Order Police have arrested two suspects in separate incidents for dealing in dagga and drugs after their vehicles were searched.
On Tuesday, 25 October 2022 at about 15:00 the member of Public Order Police Unit in Bethlehem received information about a certain minibus taxi parked at Murray Street in Bethlehem in which the person is selling dagga openly to other people. The taxi was approached, searched and 13 plastics zip logs containing 32 grams of dagga were found and one suspect aged 21 was arrested for dealing in dagga.
On Sunday, 23 October 2022 at about 15:00 the Bethlehem Public Order Police Unit received information with regard to suspicious person travelling from Heilbron in a white sedan vehicle headed to Ficksburg in possession of drugs. The members mobilised and conducted vehicle check point on the R26 road outside Bethlehem towards Fouriesburg at about 18:10.
The vehicle fitting the same descriptions was identified and stopped.
Upon searching the passenger, police found 12 wrapped sachets of unidentified drugs and the suspect was from Vereeniging to Ficksburg. The drugs were seized. The suspect was charged for dealing in drugs and dagga.
The two suspects are expected to appear before Bethlehem Magistrate court on Wednesday, 27 October 2022 facing charges of dealing in drugs and dagga separately.
