Two suspects arrested for possession drugs

DURBAN – On 25 October 2022, the Provincial Drugs and Firearms Unit conducted an operation that yielded positive results when they recovered drugs valued at R32 800-00 and arrested two suspects for dealing in drugs at two separate locations.

Police received information about a male that was selling drugs at a taxi rank in North Coast Road, an observation was conducted and the suspect matching the description was spotted. He was approached, police requested to search him and they found rock cocaine and mandrax tablets worth R11 800-00. The 25-year-old suspect was arrested and detained at Greenwood SAPS, he is appearing before Durban Magistrates Court today.

They proceeded to Amatikwe at Inanda where they went to a certain house where they found a female who confirmed that she was the owner of the house. The house was searched and police recovered 56 zanex tablets, 29 mandrax tablets, 50 pieces of rock cocaine worth R21 000-00  and a pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition. A 49-year-old female was arrested for dealing in drugs and unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition. She was detained at Inanda SAPS and she is appearing at Ntuzuma Magistrates Court today.
