Two suspects apprehended for business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm

POLOKWANE - The Police in Driekop have arrested two suspects who were allegedly involved in a business robbery incident that took place at Driekop on Monday, 20 February 2023.

According to the report, two suspects entered at the spaza shop pretending to be looking for someone and they suddenly produced firearms and instructed everyone to lie down before stealing the cash, airtime and cigarettes.

They fled on foot and community members chased them. They were caught and assaulted. Police were notified and on arrival they conducted preliminary investigations, two suspects were arrested and a firearm without magazine was also recovered.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the members for arresting business robbery suspects and community members are warned against taking the law into their own hands.

The Police investigations are still ongoing.
