DURBAN – Central police officers arrested two suspects aged 23 and 24 for possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm. The suspects are expected to appear before the Durban Magistrate’s Court today.
Yesterday at 11:30, Durban Central police officers were conducting foot patrols in the Durban CBD as part of crime prevention duties. They were alerted by a member of the community about a robbery that occurred at Medwood Gardens, where two suspects allegedly robbed a woman of her weave and a cellphone.
The police officers swiftly reacted and searched for the suspects after being given the description of the men. The police officers spotted the two suspects and they gave chase. The suspects were caught and upon searching them, police found a cellphone and a weave which belonged to the victim. The suspects were also found in possession of a firearm. The recovered firearm will be subjected to ballistic testing.
