FREE STATE – Members of Public Order Police Unit Bloemfontein arrested three suspects as part of operations executed on Sunday, 13 March 2022. The Unit embarked on Crime Combating activities in the areas of Police Stations where contact crimes, threatening human life, are on the rise.

The team conducted random stop and search in Heidedal Police Station precinct and arrived at a hawker stall. They asked permission to search the two men and stall. A firearm was found hidden underneath the stall table with a magazine loaded with four live rounds. No firearm license could be produced and both men were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The suspects will appear in Bloemfontein Magistrate Court on Tuesday 15 March 2022.
