Two firearms seized by police following a deadly shooting with criminals

Last night at 21:20, police officers from the Phoenix Trio Crime Prevention Unit were patrolling along Northern Drive in Phoenix when they spotted a vehicle with three male occupants.

 

The police officers pursued the said vehicle and attempted to intercept the vehicle by using their blue lights and the siren. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and sped away. Whilst on Northern Drive, the suspect’s vehicle suddenly stopped. When the police approached the suspects that were in a vehicle, they were met by a hail of bullets. One of the police officers was shot on the leg.

 

During the shootout, two suspects were fatally wounded whilst a 28-year-old suspect was injured and transported to hospital for medical attention where he is under police guard. The injured police officer is in a stable condition in hospital. Two firearms were seized by police for further investigation. The suspect’s vehicle was impounded for further investigation. Police are investigating charges of attempted murder and inquest. More charges will be added at a later stage.
