KOPPIES – Motorists are advised to take alternative routes following an accident on the N1, Koppies off ramp where two trucks were involved in an accident this morning at about 06:00.

The road is totally closed and traffic heading North is diverted at Kroonstad at the off ramp towards Heilbron Koppies road. Traffic heading to South is diverted before Vaal Toll Plaza via Vredefort.

One truck driver has burnt to death while another truck driver has already been taken to one of the hospitals in Kroonstad. Investigation on the scene will reveal the cause of the accident.

A culpable homicide case will be opened for further investigation.
