The City of Cape Town encourages residents to comment on the draft neighbourhood plans, otherwise known as Local Spatial Development Frameworks, for District Six, Bo-Kaap, and Mamre. The commenting period ends on 15 December 2021.
‘The purpose of the local neighbourhood plans is to formulate a vision, related policy guidelines and intervention projects that will assist in establishing inclusive and vibrant neighbourhoods, to create a sense of belonging and place, and indicate the restructuring and integration of these neighbourhoods with the surrounding areas. These plans will determine the future District Six, Bo-Kaap and Mamre for years to come, and it is important that residents participate by submitting their comments,’ said the City’s Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews.
