DURBAN – An intelligence driven operation was carried out last night until this morning by the police officers from the Provincial Special Investigation Unit, Tracking Task Team and the Provincial Task Team.
The operation was conducted at Bhekulwandle Reserve in KwaMakhutha where information about illegal firearms was followed up on. The team proceeded to a homestead in the area where a search was conducted. A 24-year-old man was found in unlawful possession of a pistol. A 29-year-old was placed under arrest after he was found in possession of 24 capsules of heroin.
During the operation, police officers spotted a vehicle which was stopped and searched. Upon searching the boot of the vehicle, police officers found a stolen goat. A 43-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for stock theft. All three men are appearing before the Umbumbulu Magistrate’s Court this morning.
