DURBAN – Yesterday, the Provincial Drugs and Firearms Unit followed up on information regarding a man that was selling drugs at Westcliff in Chatsworth. Police officers proceeded to the said place for observation. A man fitting the description circulated was seen leaving his flat carrying a bag.
When he spotted the police vehicles he attempted to flee. Police officers gave chase and he was quickly nabbed. The bag was searched and 69 mandrax tablets, 333 capsules containing heroin and 41 pieces of rock cocaine with a street value of R18, 200 were recovered. The 27-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs and detained at Chatsworth SAPS. He is appearing before Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court today.
Police then proceeded to Point where they arrested two men aged 28 and 38 who were found in possession of grams of heroin with a street value of R8700-00. They were charged for dealing in drugs and they are appearing before Durban Magistrate’s Court today.
