The freedom of four (4) suspects involved in perpetrating a House Robbery in Mbafala Street Zone 4 Thembalethu in the early hours of Wednesday, 15 September 2021, were short-lived when members from Thembalethu Vispol acted on information and apprehended the four and also managed to retrieve and seized the stolen loot.
Preliminary investigation reveals that at about 03:15 on15 September 2021, five (5) suspects who were armed with knives and pangas, entered the residence of the complainants whilst they were fast asleep and started to ransack the house by taking valuables. When the complainant awoke, they threatened her and her 16-year-old brother with the sharp objects. Thereafter they fled the scene on foot.
Thorough follow-up investigation by the shift members led them to the residence of the suspects where they arrested the four and confiscated the loot, yesterday morning (Thursday, 16 September 2021). One suspect is still at large and every effort is made to apprehend him.
The quartet, all between the ages 25 and 34 is expected to make their first court appearance in the Thembalethu Magistrates’ court on Monday, 20 September 2021. They faces a charge of House robbery.
Acting Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mteto Sapepa applauded the shift members who acted within a short space of time to apprehend the culprits.
The Provincial Management has lauded the members involved for their vigilance and dedication to bring these dangerous suspects to book.
