The Provincial Commissioner welcome more boots on the ground

POLOKWANE - The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe joined by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner Policing Major General Jan Scheepers, on Wednesday 21 December 2022 welcomed newly trained Police Constables in Mopani District Parking, who recently completed their basic training and were released from various Police Colleges as part of Project 10000.

The Provincial Commissioner started this process of welcoming and addressing the newly trained constables in Vhembe on Tuesday 20 December 2022 where she welcomed over three hundred Police Constables. On Wednesday the Provincial Commissioner descended to Mopani District where they were joined by the District Commissioner of Mopàni Major General Willy Mashavha and his Management.

From Mopàni the Provincial Commissioner, being accompanied by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner Policing Major General Jan Scheepers proceeded to Capricorn District where they were welcomed by the District Commissioner of Capricorn Maj General Lesiba Mashilo LJ.

The Provincial Commissioner, in her address to the newly trained constables, mentioned that the Constables should look at several key issues if they were to achieve their goals in this Department.

The first key issue mentioned was the reality and choices. She pointed out that it is important for anyone of the constables to realise the importance of taking conscious decision about any activity one is engaging in. She further reminded new Constables about the commitment they made when the decided to join the Police. The Provincial Commissioner further reminded the members that it is a reality that when you engage in criminality, you will be arrested and also dismissed. The Police members were reminded about several situations which includes encouraging the members to register with a view to get Qualifications which will help in making them better police while also empowering them.

The Provincial Commissioner further emphasised the importance of members being disciplined and also staying away from corrupt activities because engaging in corruption, that will be the passage for one to be out of the Police Services.

The Provincial Commissioner reminded members about one of the from Integrity Management by reminding members that they should at all material time, strive to do the right thing even if there is no one watching.

Regarding the final placement the Provincial Commissioner alerted members that a final decision on the placement of members will be done early in January 2023 and it is important for the members to note that they will be placed at the Stations which are not their home Stations.

In conclusion, the Provincial Commissioner urged the newly trained Police Constables to empower themselves by registering with tertiary institutions in order to equip themselves with knowledge and the necessary skills which were to make them better future leaders.

The Provincial Commissioner concluded her address by encouraging members to work hard and with commitment, by further wishing them well in their future endeavours and during this festive Season period
